In Response to the Worldwide Travel Alert

travel for a change

I hope everyone is well. You may have heard that, yesterday, the US Department of State issued a worldwide travel alert. This is based on the attacks we’ve seen in France, Nigeria, Denmark, Turkey, Egypt, and Mali this year, claimed by Daesh/ISIS.

Although this alert is not quite as serious as an outright warning, the US Department of State has urged people to be vigilant in public places and to avoid crowds. As always, we continue to advise our participants to avoid protest gatherings. It comes highly recommended that, as you travel, you stay in touch with family, provide them with emergency contact information, and register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP).

The Department of State’s alert is not a call to cancel travel plans, but to travel with awareness. Greenheart Travel staff will continue to travel, both personally and professionally. If you have plans to travel in the near future, keep them!

We are here to encourage you to continue to bring the world closer through cultural exchange.  Greenheart Travel’s top priority has, and will always be, the safety and well-being of our program participants. We will work together with our partners around the world to support our participants throughout their time on program. We are keeping a very close eye on world events, and we will keep you updated as we learn more.

 Sincerely,

Kyle Trebotich

Director, Greenheart Travel
