First Ski Jump in Norway

First Ski Jump in Norway

Shrouded in wilderness, Hovden is a tiny town that just pops up out of the mountains that surround it. It is just a beautiful place to go skiing. On this trip, I tried ski jumping for the first time. It was great, but it is much harder than it looks. When you’re in the air for just a short second, it is hard to keep your balance and keep a good line to land in.

Hovden also has a small forest with some great trails to go through. The forest contains some pretty gnarly moguls and some really tight lines through the trees. It is really challenging, because you only have a split-second to make a decision on which line to take, how fast to go through it, and to get bearings as you exit the corner.

Besides the forest and jumps, Hovden also has some great slopes that the whole family can enjoy, and they range from easy to really challenging. Hovden is a great place; which is probably why it is the most popular ski resort in southern Norway.

Ha det bra ,

Mitchell
