Teach English in Cambodia and gain international teaching experience while living in a country known for its rich history, welcoming communities, and growing demand for English education. This opportunity is a great fit for adventurous, flexible candidates who want to work with students, experience daily life abroad, and build international work experience. Positions are typically available throughout Cambodia, with many placements in cities such as Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, as well as some medium-sized towns.
Most roles are academic-year teaching contracts. Start dates are offered year-round, typically on a monthly basis. Teachers usually begin with a one-week orientation in Cambodia to prepare for classroom life and living in-country. Candidates who need certification may also have the option to complete a 120-hour in-person TESOL course in Thailand before placement; those in the TESOL plus placement pathway receive additional training and orientation support before beginning their teaching role in Cambodia.
Candidates should generally be native English speakers ages 21–40, citizens of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand, in good physical and mental health, and have a clean criminal record. A bachelor’s degree is required for the placement-only pathway, while non-degree holders may still be eligible through the
TESOL plus placement option. A TEFL/TESOL certification is required unless the applicant majored in Education, and applicants without certification may be able to complete it through the program pathway.
