Today marks 1 month of being in Thailand! I can’t believe how fast time has gone by! Today, 4 friends left our home here in Chiang Mai to go off and become teachers. The other 4 us remain and will part tomorrow and Friday. We graduated from our TESOL course yesterday! I honestly can’t believe we are about to embark on the second part of our journey. Lots of things to remember from this last month, but we all have bright futures here in Thailand!
These past few weeks we have enjoyed walking around Old City, eating yummy Indian food, and seeing a coffee house in a tree!! When you walk around Old City, which is surrounded by the original brick wall, you see temples almost around every corner. These temples are colorful and devine. As you walk through the grounds with monks staring at the beautiful architecture you feel at peace.
Sunday: we all were driven to a national park south of Chiang Mai in the back of a pick up truck! We climbed hills where I thought for sure we weren’t going to make it! After the hour and a half drive we made it! The coffee house was SO cool! We sat in a tree, in a coffee house…one of the coolest feelings! After the coffee house we traveled to a local village for lunch, saw a temple, and then went to yet another gorgeous waterfall! We climbed all the way to the top of the waterfall and waded in the cool, crisp water. After the waterfall we headed home.
That night our wonderful landlords, Dtong and Kat, cooked us a yummy dinner: traditional northern food made of noodles, salad, veggies, and chicken foot curry. We had a feast!!! ☺ May I add that all of this took place on the rooftop of our home!! We have the coolest landlords!
Well as I prepare to move yet again, I must do laundry, soak up last views of Chiang Mai and enjoy my girls! We are all going to be placed within 3 hours of each other so I know this won’t be the last time we see each other! I am having a blast and learning so much. I have gotten so many positive vibes and words from my group about the school I’m going to start!! Everyone says the school sounds awesome and would be a great idea! Xoxo chao for now!
