Took off to follow my dreams of teaching English in Thailand! I spent my first weekend in Bangkok, and what a wild, vibrant city it is! Hit the town with some beautiful people, then explored ALL OVER the city via boat tour! #xanovember2018 #teachabroad #xploreasia #bangkok #23hourflight #streetfood #connectionsbar #newfriends #travelthailand #passport #womenwhotravelsolo #grateful #eyesopen #greenhearttravel

Hanging out with puppies at the beach is EXACTLY what you should be doing right now. Double tap if you’re a dog person 🐶🌊 . . During orientation for Teach English in Thailand, you’ll visit our affiliate nonprofit animal rescue in Hua Hin where you will mingle with new peeps & pups. We offer other programs that work directly with the organization, DM us if you want to know more! . . 📸 Greenheart Traveler @charleefry . . #greenhearttravel #travelforachange #dogbeach #adoptdontshop #rescuepaws #straydogreascue

"A day I will never forget": The Greenheart Travel and XploreAsia teams spent last Sunday visiting orphans from the Karen tribe, at their home about 2 hours West of Hua Hin. These Burmese orphans lost their parents and fled their birth homes due to the political unrest and conflict in Myanmar. They have no valid identification while living here in Thailand, so there is little hope of returning home to Myanmar. I had never been to an orphanage before this day. We bought supplies before driving to the mountains, brought lunch, played games and did Christmas activities with the children and they even sang English Christmas songs for us. They were so engaged and excited to spend time with us. It was one of the most moving heart-warming experiences I've had while being here in Thailand for about a month now (and there have been so many unforgettable moments). The smiles (and tears) on the children's faces made it so difficult for us to leave to go back into town. 💖I am so grateful for being able to show these precious kids and few young adult orphans, and their caregiver Samsun, the true meaning of life- that is to live, laugh and love each other, and remind them that others (even strangers) do truly care and want to help. Thank you #greenhearttravel and #xploreasia for giving me the opportunity to be apart of this. I would love to visit again. 🙏 #jenmovestothailand #thailand #burma #myanmar #hilltribe #mountains #christian #wanderlust #nomad #backpacker #explore #traveldiaries #adventure #nature #healing #passionpassport #globaltravel #jensbucketlist #newjourney #trusttheprocess #igtravel #travelblog #travelgram #travelsolo #tesol #teachabroad #XANovember2017

I meditated with a Buddhist monk today and received a blessed bracelet from him! It was a wonderful experience, and I learned that monks aren't always the stoic individuals that people imagine them as. This guy was hilarious- always making jokes! I loved it! #gutsygirlliving

Today was absolutely amazing! We got to go on a hike to a temple in a cave. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The pictures can’t do it justice, but if you ever get the chance to to to Thailand you have to do this! Such a beautiful day 😊☀️ #XANovember2018 #XploreAsia #TeachAbroad #greenhearttravel #thailand

If you know me you know I don’t eat any fruit (besides 🍌) and I’m super picky about my veggies and basically eat pizza pasta and bread all day everyday at home (thanks mom and dad). But thanks to this experience I’ve been able to really push my limits and try any Thai food that looks appealing and fresh – I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far (especially what you see in these 3 pictures) except for chicken liver (had a weird taste). ขอบคถน (thank you) Thailand 🇹🇭 #xaaprilgreen2019 #xploreasia #greenhearttravel

Had an absolutely amazing day today at @rescuepawsthailand! They are a program for sterilizing and vaccinating Thai stray dog colonies. They also help educate the communities about it! Nothing better than taking a little pup on a walk on the beach! (I also contemplated taking one too….)We also got to go on a hike and see a giant Buddha. So far I’m loving every single thing about Hua Hin can’t wait for the next few weeks here! #XANovember2018 #XploreAsia #TeachAbroad #greenhearttravel

According to legend, a white elephant carrying a piece of bone from the shoulder of the Buddha was released into the jungle. The elephant began to climb a large mountain. Once reaching the top it trumpeted 3 times and then passed away. In that spot a new temple was built to house the relic! 🐘 One of the customs at Doi Suthep is to walk around the chedi clockwise 3 times while chanting a prayer.

Spent the day visiting the beautiful #phrayaNakhonCave just outside of #huaHin . We took a boat ride to a picture perfect beach off the #GulfOfThailand and began our hike up and down into caves that housed temple. We even got to see the endangered #duskyLangur on our hike back. #Thailand #travel #greenhearttravel #XploreAsia. This was also our first #NationalPark here!

Motor scooters in Thailand surpass every other form of transportation. I've seen 5 people crammed onto one, a boy no older than 10 driving one and even a dog sitting on one. I finally managed to get an amazing picture of a family, baby and all, whipping through the busy streets – they even posed for the picture. This country is one of a kind 😅😍 #Thailand #ChiangMai #GreenHeartTravel #motorbike #teachabroad

Looks like fun… I don’t see much ‘teaching’ going on, but I’m sure that’s not a priority!

This is all at orientation, before the teaching 🙂
